I’ve added 5 more photos to our Photography Shop under the “London” category today.
Trafalgar Square
Three of the photos are from the vantage point of the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square in London on a rainy day. Sight seeing came in second to people watching when these photos were taken. I noticed how many people were going about the the day without taking any notice to the stunning scenery, reflections on the rain-soaked pavement and incredible saturation of color against the grey sky.
Despite seeing many people using umbrellas or covering themselves to they didn’t get wet in the rain, I was happy to take it all in for as long as possible until I got the right shot.
Big Ben & The London Eye
The other 2 photos are from the same are, one across the street form the other: Big Ben/Parliament and The London Eye. Two of the most famous and well known tourist attractions in London.
The photo of Big Ben is a view as seen from Westminster Abbey, through a lush set of trees on a pretty cloudy day. The other was a very timely photo of The London Eye ferris wheel. The sky was incredibly stormy and I would have expected few people to want to go up, but I could see each of the gondolas full of people and a long line of people on the ground waiting to get on. Of course, I headed over afterwards so I could get in line. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em!
